MICHELIN CHEF KLAUS ERFORT AT LE NORMANDIE

 Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok welcomes yet another three-star Michelin Chef Klaus Erfort of the famed GästeHaus Klaus Erfort, Saarbrücken, Germany who will personally stage his authentic haute cuisine at the hotel’s Le Normandie from 18 – 23 October 2010, plus an exclusive wine dinner on the opening night with one of the Saint Emilion’s (Bordeaux) best wine makers, Mr Hubert de Bouard of Château Angelus.

Chef Erfort was awarded his first Star when he was the Executive Chef at the “Orangerie” at the Parkhotel Gengenbach.  It was after his tenure at the Schlosshotel Bühlerhöhe where all has begun, he was inspired to start his own business in Saarbrücken and proudly awarded his third star for GästeHaus Klaus Erfort in 2008. He is also decorated with 19 points in the Gault Millau and was elected best cook of Germany by six top-class food critics on the renowned list 2009 of the Euro Magazine as well as awarded cook of the year 2009 by “Der Feinschmecker”. Chef Erfort’s international culinary achievements are highlighted by the accolade of awards that he has received.

Chef Erfort’s motto is short and simple “the truth is upon the plate”.  He touches his dishes on the essentials and considers only high quality products for the creativity, and ability to combine aromas and textures harmonically. “I do my job respecting the product and I therefore handle it as completely and gently as possible”, says the 37-year-old cook.
